International Understanding Day: Fiji Na Tanoa

On 28 February 2026, our Interact Club hosted a vibrant celebration of culture during the 51st International Understanding Day, themed “Fiji Na Tanoa.” The event brought the spirit of Fiji to life through lively performances, cultural showcases, and engaging activities that highlighted the richness and diversity of Fijian traditions.

International Understanding Day: Fiji Na Tanoa

We were deeply privileged to host the Fiji High Commissioner, His Excellency Mr Ratu Etueni Qiolele Caucau, who graciously attended the event despite his busy schedule. Inspiring remarks were also shared by our Vice Principal, Mr Lim Chee Ho, along with representatives from the Rotary Club, encouraging students to embrace cultural exchange and international friendship.

The programme featured a colourful lineup of dance performances, a creative skit, traditional games, and a variety of Fijian-inspired experiences. Guests also enjoyed traditional food and had the opportunity to explore a special exhibition of Fijian artefacts, offering a deeper appreciation of the country’s heritage and traditions.

We were delighted to also welcome participants from five Interact Clubs across Kuala Lumpur which made the celebration even more meaningful as students connected, collaborated, and strengthened inter-school friendships.

More than just a cultural showcase, Fiji Na Tanoa was a beautiful reminder of how learning about one another’s cultures can bring people closer together. A heartfelt “Vinaka” (thank you) to our school leadership, teacher advisors, and the dedicated Interactors whose tireless effort and teamwork made this celebration possible. It was truly an afternoon to remember — a meaningful toast to Fiji and to the spirit of international understanding that continues to unite us all.
