Skyline Luge Outing
On 11th May 2024, the 9th Kuala Lumpur Girls’ Brigade held an outing to Skyline Luge Kuala Lumpur. All the girls arrived before 1:00 p.m. and gathered at the courtyard. The leaders took attendance while they waited for the bus. Leader Tang Lee Yan then led the opening prayer before the journey started.
The journey took about 40 minutes, and they arrived at Skyline Luge Kuala Lumpur at around 2:20 p.m. Immediately, they noticed the big Ferris wheel, which was very attractive and huge. They walked towards the entrance of Skyline Luge Kuala Lumpur, excited to go on the rides with their friends.
They lined up and waited by the counter as Officer Claire claimed their tickets. Officer Claire then distributed the tickets while reminding everyone to keep the tickets in their pockets or hands. Holding their tickets, they walked towards the luge, located beside a shop that sold merchandise, as well as helmets at the front of the shop.
The girls lined up in pairs and started trying on helmets that were suitable. Once everyone got their helmets, they walked towards the waiting area. At 2:40 p.m., they were informed that all rides were stopped due to an incoming storm. They prayed for better weather as they were all still very excited.
They sat down in the waiting area, hoping the weather would improve. Officer Frecella entertained them by asking riddles, and most girls were eager to answer, raising their hands, hoping to be picked.
At 3:45 p.m., they were told that if the storm continued, they could get their tickets revalidated, but they had to be used within 30 days. By 4:00 p.m., the rain cleared, and it was sunny, but the rides were still closed. To cheer them up, they went to an ice cream shop with the officers. The girls were very happy to have ice cream and make memories with their friends despite the weather.
Officer Claire got their tickets revalidated and gave each girl her ticket before the bus arrived. They then got on the bus and returned to school, arriving by 5:20 p.m. They gathered in the courtyard, said the closing prayer, and shared their experiences before going home.
The girls were very excited at the start of the trip, knowing they would learn something new. Despite not being able to do what they had planned, they were still grateful to make amazing memories with their friends. They also learned the importance of planning before a trip. While typically aiming for the best outcomes, they realized the necessity of preparing for the worst circumstances as well. Nevertheless, they hoped to join more fun outings in the future.
