About Us
Welcome to Wesley Methodist School Kuala Lumpur
With a long-standing heritage of more than a century since 1891, we are well-known for our academic excellence and transforming lives with our exceptional all-rounded education based on Christian Mission School ethos and values.
Sekolah Methodist Wesley or Wesley Methodist School Kuala Lumpur was originally known as Kolej Methodist Sentul Campus. The Presidential Task Force set up by the Methodist Church in Malaysia in 1976, recommended that the character of Methodist Private Schools, which had provided a second chance for dropouts from the government system, be transformed, in order to provide quality education.
The School provides both high-quality Malaysian national KSSM syllabus as well as internationally-recognized education- the Cambridge International syllabus and which is owned by the Methodist Council of Education, Methodist Church in Malaysia; and is affiliated with the Methodist College Kuala Lumpur (MCKL).
At Wesley Methodist School Kuala Lumpur, we are committed to building up each child into a responsible, purposeful individual and citizen equipped with the aptitudes to succeed and adapt in a rapidly changing world through Methodist Education where our focus is on A.C.E.S. – Academic excellence, Character building, Extra-curricular achievement, and Spiritual formation.
- A – Academic excellence with affordability
We pursue high standards and measurable achievement in teaching and learning, alongside continual improvement and academic progress for every student. Academic excellence is reflected not only in strong outcomes (such as academic distinctions and high grades), but also in positive learning progression and growth, including improvement from one performance level to the next. Supported by reflective teaching practices and committed educators, students are nurtured to develop strong foundations, critical and creative thinking skills, and lifelong learning habits.
- C — Character Building
Character formation lies at the heart of Methodist Education. Students are nurtured to develop integrity, respect, responsibility, and moral courage. Grounded in Christian values and aligned with the principles of the Rukun Negara, character education promotes unity, ethical leadership, and responsible citizenship within Malaysia’s diverse society.
- E — Extra-curricular Achievements
Education extends beyond the classroom through broad co-curricular opportunities and student achievements. Students are exposed to the arts, sciences, sports, leadership, and team-building experiences that foster confidence, resilience, discipline, and teamwork. These experiences support holistic growth, recognise participation and achievement, and encourage responsible citizenship.
- S — Spiritual Formation
Spiritual Formation promotes students’ spiritual development through values-based worldview formation. Centred on WMS’s value – God-Centrednesso Respect for Life, Integrity, and Excellence with Humility, students are guided to think clearly, discern wisely and build convictions about self, community and faith that are rooted in truth.
Through reflective practices, service-oriented experiences, and community engagement, spiritual formation nurtures grounded, compassionate individuals who respect diversity and contribute positively to society.
