Teacher & Staff Team-Building Retreat

From the 6th to the 8th of August 2024, WMSKL(I) held a team-building retreat at Paradise Valley in Broga for the school’s teachers and staff. This retreat offered a break from daily routines, focusing on strengthening bonds, teamwork, and creativity within the school community.

Set against the backdrop of rolling hills and lush greenery, the retreat featured activities designed to foster collaboration, trust, and mutual respect. The location’s natural beauty added to the serene atmosphere, setting the tone for the event.

The 1st day’s highlight was the “Human Knot” activity, which quickly became a favourite among the participants. This challenge required close coordination, as team members worked together to untangle themselves without breaking the chain. The activity not only provided a fun and engaging start to the retreat but also underscored the critical importance of communication and teamwork—skills that are essential in the roles of educators.

The 2nd day of the retreat was packed with an array of team challenges and workshops designed to test and enhance participants’ problem-solving abilities, creativity, and resilience under pressure. These activities pushed the teams to think creatively and work together effectively, building on the foundations laid during the 1st day.

The retreat’s 3rd day culminated in a profound and emotionally resonant group reflection session. This gathering provided participants with an opportunity to connect on a deeper level, sharing not only their personal experiences from the retreat but also expressing genuine appreciation for one another. It was a moment of introspection and inspiration, as the group united to reflect on their journey and collaboratively chart the path forward.

Overall, the retreat at Paradise Valley was successful in reinforcing collaboration, communication, and trust among the staff. It was more than just a getaway—it was a meaningful journey of growth and unity for the WMSKL(I) community, with lasting impacts on their work moving forward.
