Embarking on a Journey of Intentionality: The Go-Getter Program

We are delighted to share with you an insightful recap of the recent Go-Getter Program conducted by our dedicated Counselling Unit. This initiative, centred around the theme of intentional behaviour, aimed to equip our students with the tools necessary for purposeful actions and mindful decision-making.

The program commenced with a comprehensive overview of intentional behaviour, led by our experienced counsellors. Through engaging discussions and informative sessions, Wesleyans gained a deeper understanding of the importance of conscious choices in various aspects of their lives, including academics, social interactions, and personal well-being.

One of the program’s highlights was the interactive activity designed to reinforce the concept of intentionality. Wesleyans were organized into groups and tasked with a creative challenge: constructing boats using limited resources such as straws and tape, with Mentos representing

each group member. The ultimate test awaited as these makeshift vessels were put to the trial, tasked with surviving a controlled fall without spilling their cargo.

Witnessing the ingenuity and teamwork displayed by our students was truly inspiring. Many groups rose to the occasion, crafting innovative solutions and successfully navigating the turbulent waters of the challenge. This hands-on experience not only underscored the importance of setting clear goals but also demonstrated the tangible outcomes that arise from intentional actions.

Following the activity, students engaged in a reflective debriefing session facilitated by our knowledgeable counsellors. Together, they explored the significance of intentionality in shaping their academic pursuits and outlined personal goals for the upcoming academic year. This exercise served as a pivotal moment for self-reflection and strategic planning, empowering students to chart a course towards their aspirations with purpose and determination.

As we reflect on the journey embarked upon during the Go-Getter Program, it is evident that the lessons learned extend far beyond the confines of the classroom. By cultivating a culture of intentionality, we are nurturing the growth and development of future leaders equipped to navigate the complexities of an ever-changing world.
