Growing in Faith, Friendship and Leadership

Faith, friendship, and personal growth were at the heart of 9th Kuala Lumpur Girls' Brigade Annual Camp, where our girls came together across year groups to build confidence, strengthen connections, and learn through meaningful shared experiences.

Growing in Faith, Friendship and Leadership

From worship and devotional sessions to drills, badge work, and team-building challenges, every part of the camp offered a different opportunity to grow. The girls learned to work together, step beyond their comfort zones, express their creativity, and encourage one another along the way.

Spiritual reflection remained an important part of the experience. Guided by Chaplain Rev. Jonathan Chan, the girls explored themes of faith, character, and personal responsibility, while Lieutenant Norita’s session on “Seek, Serve and Follow Christ” encouraged them to reflect on how Christian values can shape the way they live and lead each day.

There was plenty of hands-on learning too. Our Year 7 girls worked towards their Cosmetology Badge, while those in Year 8 to Year 10 took on the Design Your Tote Bag Badge, turning creativity into practical skills and memorable shared moments. Drill sessions and team-building games brought another kind of challenge, strengthening discipline, communication, trust, and teamwork.

Perhaps the most meaningful part was seeing the girls grow alongside one another. Senior girls stepped up to lead their squads and discovered greater confidence in being entrusted with responsibility, while our Year 7 girls formed new friendships beyond their own year group. These moments of connection, encouragement, and shared growth captured the true spirit of the camp.

The experience concluded with a drill showcase, where the girls proudly demonstrated the discipline, coordination, and teamwork they had developed, followed by recognition for outstanding squads.

A heartfelt thank you to our Chaplain, Captain, Officers and all 9th Kuala Lumpur participants for pouring their time, care, and energy into making the camp so meaningful. More than the skills learned or badges completed, we hope the girls carry forward the faith, friendships, confidence, and courage they discovered in one another.
