We are incredibly honoured to have our WMSKLI Dikir Barat Team featured on TV3’s Buletin Utama on 2 July 2026.

The feature celebrated the unique spirit of our school community by showcasing a diverse group of international school students who have embraced one of Malaysia’s treasured cultural art forms with genuine passion, respect, and appreciation.
The TV3 crew was particularly impressed by our students’ dedication in mastering not only the rhythms and instrumental techniques of Dikir Barat, but also their ability to perform the songs authentically with accurate pronunciation and the distinctive Pantai Timur dialect. Their performances beautifully reflected the appreciation of Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage and demonstrated how the arts can bring people from different backgrounds together.

Guided by Puan Nurrul Ain, Puan Noraini, Puan Salina, and Puan Zainab, this journey extends beyond performance. It is about deepening students’ appreciation of Malaysian culture and heritage, strengthening their command of the Malay language, and fostering unity through mutual respect and understanding.

Being featured on national television was a proud moment, but what made it truly meaningful was seeing the values we cherish at Wesley come to life through cultural appreciation, mutual respect, and learning from one another.
